A C-terminal fragment of human growth hormone developed as a fat-loss agent without GH's effects on IGF-1 or glucose. A 12-week Phase 2b trial failed to beat placebo on weight loss.
Clinical evidence
Despite promising rodent lipolysis data, the human obesity programme was discontinued after AOD-9604 showed no significant weight advantage over placebo. Later interest shifted to cartilage and osteoarthritis research.
