Selank
ALSO KNOWN AS · Tuftsin analogue TP-7
A synthetic analogue of the immunopeptide tuftsin studied as a non-sedating anxiolytic. Russian trials report anxiolytic effects comparable to benzodiazepines without dependence; independent replication is lacking.
Mechanism
Selank appears to stabilise enkephalin levels by inhibiting their degradation and to modulate GABA-A receptor expression, alongside effects on serotonin turnover.
